I heal with rhyme
Bring yourself to hear the words,
as the're tossed up like confetti.
Let your soul be truly fed,
as with Italian spaghetti.
Let them enter deep inside you
and digest them with no trouble.
You will hunger for some more
and then get a serving double.
Live poetry show
To all the lovers
of the spoken word in rhyme,
of spiritual journey,
justice, faith and crime,
storytelling from war to peace
from left to right
and all in between,
here is an invite to add
to your list of things to be seen!
For more than 35 years, poetry has been my companion and my way of making sense of the world. My journey began in the school, then through the shadow of war and personal trauma, and over time, poetry became both my refuge and my voice. Through it, I’ve learned to turn pain into healing, wounds into wisdom, and human struggle into moments of joy, faith, and laughter. My poems are more than words on a page - they are encounters. Sometimes a story that makes you laugh, other times a moment that nudges you to think more deeply. At their core, they are an invitation: to see your own reflection, to recognise that broken pieces can be made whole, and to discover that even in the darkest seasons, there is light.I share my work in circles, I read the poems interwoven with stories of life, spiritual journey, survival and joy of living in the present moment. I am only available in person, live, without any presence on social media because I believe poetry is meant to be lived and felt, not just read. In a room together, we create connections - eye to eye, heart to heart - and find healing in community and inside of you. Whether you come seeking peace, strength, or simply a moment of beauty, my hope is that you leave with renewed courage and the reminder that you are not alone.Do not hesitate, get in touch and find out more. In the meantime, read a poem below :)
What do I have to say?Oh man, so much in rhyme
and even more without it
In English plenty you can listen,
or just read about itOr in my tongue of mother
I will speak all the best,
of you, me and that significant otherTrust me, it works out for the best
I give you some good stuff,
I give you words,
you will forget the restBook me for a wedding,
a birthday, give a funeral a go too
Barmitzvah maybe, who knows
I will read as the rhyme flowsThere, I’ve written enough
my agent is willing
to be a go between
as long as he gets a shillingIt’s not about a price
or even a pound or two
I will write some deep words
for your guests, and for you
Fr Joseph - The literary nights we spent with Tanya were joyful and cathartic at the same time. Her poems offer the healing power, which heals everyone who has journeyed to adulthood, and who have been journeying through adulthood. One does not have to have traumas of war, adult life is about continuous displacements, changing jobs, and gathering experiences. In Tanya’s poems wittiness and clever jokes sparkle – transforming darkness into a never extinguishable light.
Jennifer - It's my second time listening to Tanya's poetry. there are layers one can glean from. She puts a comical twist to her adventures where she finally meets her husband in a spiritual way. She shares some intimate details of her experiences of war. My favourite is planes flying over me. Not knowing when she would be safe. All she wanted to do was play. Something I ponder on. What other emotions was she experiencing apart from fear? It must have been overwhelming. The value of a human soul is priceless. As it's says in Proverbs 31, above Rubies.
Philip - Tanya's poetry takes you from the lived through experience of civil war to the war zone of the human heart. Universal themes are explored from her own unique perspective. The words bring healing and reconciliation to a wounded world. She is a story teller one minute and a psalmist the next, drawing us into her world with imagination and wit.
Lingraj - Tanya's poetry was truly beautiful like much needed therapy. It brought real peace to my heart.Grateful for your words and energy.
Mina - Tanya's poetry was thought-provoking, irreverent, emotional, funny, sad and wild. Something for everyone is on offer, with never a dull moment!
Beata - Poetry evening.A woman and her life through her poems.Curiosity, emotions, silence playfulness, all in one place in one evening, all of it together. Come and see.

Speak foreign?
First poem was written back in secondary school, and yes, that was in the last century. Oh no, I'm not that old, I'm a woman with a story to tell, through humour and poems, laughing about the life over the past 35 years, and counting!
Being bilingual does not mean I translate any of it, I just write what I hear and end up with a poem, one way or another.
What about the donkey, I hear you ask? Well, he's there for the emotional support.
Poetry mental wellness workshops
What are these all about?
Well, think of your thoughts,
your feelings and your words, basically, anything that comes out of your mouth.
It's not always the best of you, it's not always all so bad, but you want to make things better, free your mind of all the clutter,
and say only the words that really matter.
Any kind of creative expression can help improve the overall health of a person. When it comes to poetry, we usually think it’s something difficult and complex, something only talented people can create and the sentence I’ve heard most often from people is: I could never do that! This is one of the main reasons why my poetry workshops are great for mental health. Words, which are in fact our spoken thoughts, are formed in our mental body (mind) and need to be expressed, into a physical form. Poetry, as an art form, helps our soul express the emotions and bring the thoughts to life. When we see them on paper, as we do exercises in the workshop, and once we read them out loud, we feed our heart and soul, and are eager to create more.Whether you're planning a session for a workplace wellbeing program, supporting mental health in nursing homes, bringing together intergenerational communities, or adding something special to a birthday celebration, my workshops adapt beautifully to your needs.Perfect for small to medium-sized groups. The possibilities are endless: contact me to get in touch to explore the right option for you.
Ansu Matabudul - The workshop was original and very interesting. I had never experience anything like this before. The positive aspect included the small group size, which created a safe and clean environment. This setting allowed us to connect with each other and express ourselves through words. The course structure was effective, as we passed worksheets around to one another, which facilitated learning and egagement. I felt my confidence improve, and I met new people in the process. The age group was diverse, and I even brough my mother along.Tanya encouraged us to read our work and share our thoughts, which gave me a sense of accomplishment. She offered praise throughout the workshop, which was motivating. I would love to attend more of her workshops in the future.
Thayna M - I love how we get to explore our own writing styles and how our own interests, traits and personality shows up when we are putting words together. I came to the workshop worried that I would not be good with words but ended up being surprised at how easy it actually was. I came out refreshed and ready for a new beginning.
Philip C - As an introduction to writing poetry, this worked perfectly. Word games to break down any natural shyness to deal with the written word. Pushing the boat out further as confidence is built up bit by bit. Finding yourself expressing thoughts that come from deeper in the mind's eye than you are used to seeing. All in all, excellent!
Read me like a poem
There I was,
born on a late summer afternoon
and fed with a spoon.
Obviously,
this came a little later in life
when I got introduced to fork and a knife.
Many decades have passed, yet young I feel,
enough life lived to call it so real.
Too little for any greys to show up and stay,
I dance and daily, with smile, I pray.
Much work has been done, and it is ongoing,
for call me just anything,
but defo not boring.
Even these words are making me laugh,
with every letter, I wonder if it's enough.
With words I heal, spoken are the best,
in person, but also in all of the rest.
Poetry is a great love,
I cannot deny but lovers are many,
do give them a try.
Tanya they call me, as that is my name;
they email, and text, and tag all the same.
On facebook a bit,
in virtual worlds not so much,
I prefer your face, your word
and your human touch.
Now what...?
Now it's time to get in touch
Ask me questions, don't be shy
I await to hear from you
To feel your voice
I'd love that very much
